Super Bowl Lix’s economic boom is felt by business in the metropolitan region – WBRZ

Baton Rouge – While New Orleans is the center of the world of sports and tourism this weekend, many businesses in the metropolitan region feel the economic boom that comes with the Super Bowl host.

Companies in the food, hotel and entertainment industry have told WBRZ that they are for a big weekend.

In the last few days, numerous charter flights have touched the Baton Rouge airport in Sofia, bringing visitors from Philadelphia and Kansas City.

Right next to the airport is the airport of Hilton Garden Inn Baton Rouge, which says he has had his fair share of fans in the last few days.

“We take significantly with the overflow this weekend. We reach 100 percent employment, which is great over the next four days,” said Nestor Rodriguez sales director.

Some hotel rooms around the New Orleans cost nearly $ 5,000 a night. The average price of Hilton Garden for a room this weekend is about $ 400 a night.

“From us that we are close to the airport, you have easy access to and exit to the interstate, cars for rent. We have a restaurant in the property. We always do it for our guests, so they can take a bite before they hit the road,” said Rodriguez S

Many of these visitors are in Louisiana for the first time. One thing in a group of Eagles fans from Maryland’s bucket lists was to deal with a swamp tour.

“(We) we love him. Good food, good people, everyone is really nice, they just made a great tour,” said Eagles fan Jason Harvey. “It was the right moment. We saw a bunch of alligators for the first time we never saw alligators not in the zoo or not inside a cage.”

Harvey and his group toured the plakemin’s swamps with the latest Wilderness Swamp tours. Wilderness’s last guide Albert Wilson says Super Bowl, combined with good weather, contributes to increased profits this weekend.

One of the most famous draws of South Louisiana is food. Burbank’s walk near Tiger Stadium was a particularly hot place.

Softball LSU begins on Friday with a game against Charlotte and LSU Bomanball Game game on Sunday against Tennessee just before the Super Bowl Lix. Walk on Nando Cuellar General says it’s a weekend he is always excited about.

“We will usually do about $ 50,000 to $ 60,000 at sales; this weekend we’re likely to do an additional $ 20,000,” Qualar said.
