BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — Stories from Louisiana’s 200-year history are bringing people to the state to visit haunted attractions.

New Orleans isn’t the only place in the state with haunted locations. There are several places in the state capital where there are claims of ghost sightings. People looking for a ghost trip can plan their own paranormal activities or tour sites.

Looking for more fun fall activities? Other seasonal events in the area are festivals and Halloween events. Families can visit corn mazes or pumpkin patches for an unforgettable photo shoot.

Here are some places in the Baton Rouge area that are rumored to be haunted.

The 10th floor of the building is said to be inhabited by the ghost of Governor Huey P. Long. The National Register of Historic Places nomination form says the hotel, when it was known as the Heidelberg Hotel, was “the unofficial Long headquarters.”

This building, once used by state legislators, was built from 1847-49. According to Explore Louisiana, the ghost of Rep. Pierre Couvillion may roam the chamber after his heart attack following a speech about corrupt politicians.

The campus has over 100 years of history dating back to the Civil War. There are several places rumored to be haunted on LSU grounds, including Pleasant Hall, Evangeline Hall and Acadian Hall, according to Visit Baton Rouge.

This historic plantation is said to be haunted by the ghosts of former slaves, according to the 10/31 Consortium. The house, which dates back to 1700, offers tours and has a collection of colonial-era furniture and art.
