St. Paul, Min. – Most athletes know that the biggest victories do not always come from victory.

In the gym of the old school in Rice Street in St. Paul, a young hunter learns, regardless of the obstacle, he can always return more strongly.

Owen Emerson, 13 years old, knew that becoming a boxer was not easy to be easy.

He returned to the gym for the first time from a battle he did not go, as he hoped. During Emerson’s second official match, he took his first loss. It was a loss that sting.

“You want to learn one thing from this battle, you have not lost,” said coach Mike Evgen.

They told him to take a day off, but he returned to the gym, without excuses, without complaints.

“A week without the gym crashed me, you know,” said Emerson.

He may be young, but he learns one of the most difficult lessons that life can offer.

“Failure is not fatal. If you don’t succeed, you get more from the people who haven’t done it. It’s part of life and it’s good for you, “Emerson said.

“This man has a great motivation for our gym, he is probably the smallest, but he is one of the most bright I have seen in here,” said Ray, who is present at St. Paul’s gym.

He now puts his equipment for the first time from his loss.

Emerson’s father, Chris knows too well that in boxing, such as in life, every stroke, every failure is a lesson.

“He knows that in every situation to be a gladiator who comes on a ring for three quarters of a hundred people and fighting someone, a certain type of person is needed. You can use these things in life, “he said.

Emerson may have lost this match, but he has not lost what is in his heart.

The old boxing gym from Rice Street is an organization without a motive for a profit that they say he will never give to someone who wants to participate.
