3 Israeli hostages released for Palestinian detainees and prisoners – Public Radio Boise

Tel Aviv, Israel – Hamas released three more Israeli hostages on Saturday, as the fragile deal to end the fire between the Palestinian militant group and Israel continued to hold in the fourth week.

The 52 -year -old Eliahu Shabi or Levi, 34 -year -old, and Ohd Ben Ami, 56 – three male civilians – were handed over by Hamas fighters to the International Red Cross Committee in the southern city of Gaza, Deir Al Balah, surrounded by crowds of viewers. Unlike previous legends, hostages, surrounded by highly armed artillerymen, made statements to the crowd. The three men looked Gont and pale after 16 months in captivity.

Israel is ready to release more than 180 Palestinian prisoners and detainees – including 111 of Gaza – in return, including some who serve life sentences.

The hostage of hostages for this weekend is the first after President Trump has paid a plan for the US to take a gas and move almost two million Palestinians elsewhere. The proposal invited the wrath of Hamas’s leadership in Gaza and the Palestinian power on the West Coast, as well as rejection from regional leaders and many allies in the United States.

Trump made the proposal on Tuesday when he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, speaking to White House reporters on Friday, Trump said he considered the proposal as a “real estate deal where we would be an investor in this part of the world.” He added that he was in “There’s no hurry to do nothing”.

Also on Friday, Hamas accused Israel of renewing the terms of the agreement against the background of the signs that the fire termination agreement had fallen, claiming that Israel did not allow certain humanitarian aid – such as shelters, removal equipment and fuel equipment – in Gaza, which he believes are needed for reconstruction effort.

The Israeli military made a statement saying that it had placed troops several points from the Gaza Strip and were “ready in defense”.

The three civilians were taken hostage on October 7, 2023, a Hamas attack on South Israel, killing about 1,200 people and during which about 250 people were taken hostage.

There are still 76 hostages – both civilians and soldiers – to be held in gas, many of whom are thought to be dead, according to Israel.

As part of the agreement, Israel must withdraw entirely on Sunday from a strategic corridor it created during the war to separate the gas. Talks about the next phase of the fire termination transaction, which will see more hostages released as prisoners and a more withdrawal of the Israeli Gaza troops are expected to start this weekend.
