Closing Roads through Durham County during a nine -month dressing program – the northern echo

The Durham County Council will launch a surface dressing program on Monday, February 10, affecting different roads around the county, according to a public notice.

The works that will include surface and preparatory corrective tasks are expected to last nine months, with an estimated completion date on November 10.

Some roads will be temporarily closed with deviations on site.

These include the unclassified B6281/C161 Egglestone Lane and Croft Yorke Lane, C44 Westwick Road from Barnard Castle to Whorlton, and Road Road B1280 Road and Front Street in Wingate.

Other roads, such as unclassified 16.2 packages to Townsfield, and unclassified 33.8 Ravensford Road in hamsters, will be closed without deviations.

Further Temporary Closures Will Affect The C8a Blackboy Road in Lumley, Unclassified 27.10 Old Cassop, C34 Moor Lane from Oldon to News Aswell, C24 Sheraton Village, and Unclassified Barrasford Road in Newton Hall.

Speed ​​limitations will also be applied in different places.

A speed limit of 40 miles / h will be applied when applicable, while in certain areas a 10MP speed limit with convoy is applied and is not implemented.

All speed limits, road closure and alternative routes will be clearly signed when appropriate.

The Council advises that alternative closing dates may be required by cases and they will be signed on the spot respectively.

Meanwhile, the closure of the pedestrian paths will be carried out for five weeks to allow basic gas to be undertaken.

Durham’s District Council announced temporary closure of the pedestrian path of Bedburn Close, Shipley Terrace and Rydal Drive, Crook.

The works are expected to be completed by February 17, 2025.

In other news from the public notices, National Highways Limited announced planned works on the A1 (M) highway in Durham County.

The works, which should start at 8:00 pm on Friday, February 14, will include concreting, cathode protection, painting and bridge joint works.

The works are expected to last seven months, with an estimated completion date on September 13, 2025.

During the work, a temporary limitation of the speed to 50 miles / h to certain sections from the northern and south to the south will be imposed.

Traffic management will be in force and road signs will indicate the degree of restrictions that will not apply to emergency vehicles or special forces vehicles.

The order enters into force on February 13, 2025 and has a maximum duration of 18 months.
