BP chief spoke on the arrival of the National Guards – KGNS

Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – The National Guard, which is currently performing non -migration obligations, can change the roles after President Donald Trump’s emergency proclamation on the Texas border.

The Trump administration brought with it a series of changes along the border between the South Texas and, according to Jesse Munoz, head of the Laredo border patrol sector, their approach to the media may be the largest.

Noting: “All we get is that they want us to be out with the media by sending our message. Because, as I mentioned before, if we do not provide our message, someone else will do it. ”

In an intimate briefing for the media press, Munoos addressed a selection from Laredo’s media, from established networks to independent journalists. Answering one of the biggest questions: “Should Larendoans expect national guards?” The answer is yes.

At the moment, at least 300 National Guards are expected to make their way to the Larendo border sector. Be replaced by Title 8, which allows them to perform obligations that are before being exclusive to immigration, such as arrests.

Munoz added: “We have already started the process of launching the curriculum, so it is not like they will show up and we will send them to the pitch. Before we do this, we will train. It will be placed by a legal advisor and border patrol agents. ”

The National Guard will work with the border patrol agents, ensuring that procedures are being followed. Usually, Laredo’s border sees daily crossings with less than 100 per day, but according to the border patrol, this number has dropped significantly to 30-40 intersections per day.

Munoz explained that a rotation from the previous administration would be that repatriation flights would no longer take off from Laredo.

“Not so long ago, Larendo will collect about 1000 illegal aliens a day because we were helping to decompose other sectors. We are under 100 now and this is because we are only processing and controlling. As for the removal of Mexico, these are only the ones that capture in our area. “

Border Patrol President Hector Garza said the number of fears remains low with 400 daily concerns.

“This will help us secure the border. This will help us bring a safe community and we hope to end all those dangerous activities we see in Laredo and other places along the community, “Garza said.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the only agency authorized to launch persecution within the city, in 2024 the County of Web starts 195 activities, with some being held near parks and schools.

Their goal remains clear to have zero crossings in the Larendo sector. Munos commented that once this is achieved, the application must remain in force to protect the border.

The border patrol commented that in terms of federal freezing hiring, insofar as they are concerned, they are hired.
