“We are grateful for this partnership with the museum, which will help the stories we have collected from people located at the El Toro Air Station, they come to life,” Stern said. The museum also participates in the transition of the college to the future program.

“What distinguishes this collection from other military collections is that we spent more time on the human element. We have focused on the whole life of a person, so you feel the stories of men and women who worked at the El Toro base, “Fushkis said.

Lieutenant Robling, for example, is represented as one of the oral stories.

Interviews of the EL Toro Marine Corps air station project can also be used as a reference material for students and graduates.

The roots of the museum begin at the former Air Station of the El Toro Marine Corps, where the museum is housed, while the El Toro Air Station officially closed in 1999. The museum was housed at the Miramar Air Station until 2021.
