BATON ROUGE, La. (BRRUD) — The Drug Enforcement Administration will host the 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.
There will be several drop-off locations near Baton Rouge where residents can safely dispose of expired, unused or unwanted medications.
The DEA organized the event to help prevent prescription drug abuse and reduce the potential for accidental drug poisonings, according to a news release.
The DEA and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches and other forms of prescription drugs. According to a press release, syringes, sharp objects and illegal drugs will not be collected.
