“Trust your Intestines”: Wilmington’s wife shares the story of a heart attack for a national Go Red For Women Day – Wect

Wilmington, NC (Wect) – The local Wilmington woman raises awareness of heart health in honor of the national GO Red for Women’s Day of the American Cardiac Association.

The life of Janet Fur changed forever when she had a heart attack last summer. Twee says there are almost no symptoms and if it wasn’t for her Apple Watch, she may not be here to share her story.

It was a typical summer day for Furr, until her Apple Watch warned her that she had a quick heart rate.

“That’s why I told my husband that I really had to go somewhere,” Fur said.

After she went to the hospital, his voice learned that her main artery was blocked in two places, making her a heart attack.

Furr says she has no symptoms of heart attack and does not think this will happen to her.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women over the age of 20.

At 65, Furr is now a priority to the health of her heart and hopes her story will encourage women to follow in her footsteps.
