After the big lots planned to close all stores across the country, including 34 seats in South Carolina, 17 seats in the state are now ready to remain open.

The list comes from the court documents presented as part of the bankruptcy proceedings of the company. Gordon Brothers, an investment company focused on retail and Massachusetts -based trade, acquired Big Lots assets in January, including shops, intellectual property and distribution centers.

The Gordon brothers plans to transfer at least 200 of the retail chain stores for discounts to various wholesalers, based in North Carolina. Fast Company has announced that the wholesale variety plans to manage places as large batches, but plans can be changed with more stores added.

“It is our intention to manage these 200 seats under the Big Lots flag,” said Jeff King, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for various wholesale dealers in front of Fast Company. “We are currently working through the bankruptcy process.”

The objections to the planned transfer can be obtained until late afternoon on February 18th. The court will approve the transfer without hearing if there are no objections.

According to the Big Lots 33 website, the stores are in South Carolina and the 872 are in the United States. They specialize in the sale of Overstock and Closeout goods, including home decor, furniture and other products. The company applied for bankruptcy protection in September 2024.

Big Lots and Gordon Brothers did not immediately respond to requests for a comment from the publication and the courier.
