In the end, Hauler FCC environmental services won the contract to serve almost all of St. Paul, with the city itself lifting a small slice in the most difficult alleys.

FCC bought a parcel of 560 Randolph AV. Last summer, it is used as a depot for approximately 30 garbage trucks that will move on a compressed natural gas and a charging station.

“Despite the purchase and plans to expand FCC, the site is historically allocated for mixed purpose development, housing and transit orientation,” said a statement from the local district council.

The company said in an email statement that their plans follow the rules of the city and would improve the site from its current condition.

“Our improvements will bring a new, revived look at the site and create a positive impact on the community,” the statement said.
