The theater of the young actors celebrates a remarkable 50 years of artistic achievements with the gala of a black tie on February 1 at the Student Union of the University of Florida.

The host of Tony Hale, a fellow of the Young Actors Theater and the three -time Emmy Award winner, the event convened over 550 community members who contributed to $ 290,000 in support of a new donation fund and guarantee the future of the theater for next generations.

“There are certain personalities in this world who need an art environment to thrive and find their own way,” Hale says in his main remarks, pointing to the audience. “There are so many different paths that came from the young actors, and I say that because art education and art is absolutely necessary.”

In fact, the brilliant crowd included hundreds of graduates who flew in the city from abroad and across the country. They work in NASA, leading operating rooms, religious congregations, courtrooms, as well as brilliance of Broadway and Netflix, plus network television shows.

“The future of the theater of the young actors is bright and we remain more engaged than ever to help every individual student to grow into the best person who can get up, on stage and exclusion,” says Sarah Roy, CEO of non -profit aim. “Our goal is to invest in the next generation of talents and develop leaders who can think creatively and critically.”

Since its founding in 1975 by Tina Williams, the theater of young actors has trained students in the performing arts. It is long considered the treasure of the Community, YAT is one of the few independent children’s programs of the nation with its own theater on the spot.

Here students, aged 3 to 18, study acting, singing and dancing, but their education includes a lot more. Through small classes taught by experienced, innovative instructors and professional caliber productions, students grow in YAT, equipped to shine in any adult role they choose.
