Funeral details revealed for the slain police officer in North Las Vegas – Las Vegas Review -Journal

Funeral details of a killed police officer in North Las Vegas were announced on Thursday.

The services for officer Jason Roskov will be held at the Henderson Central Church at 10am on Thursday, February 13, a police station in North Las Vegas said on Thursday night.

The Central Church, Megacher, near the Interstate 11, also known as the American Highway 95, and Russell Road, has hosted numerous police officers and firefighters in recent years.

The procession will also start in the morgue of Palm South Jones, on South Jones Boulevard 1600, in Las Vegas, police said.

Police said on Wednesday that Roskov would be laid for rest In his hometown of Prairie du Rocher, IlLinois., at a date to be determined.

Earlier on Thursday night, Roskov was remembered in a vigil at candles, which was attended by hundreds outside the mayoralty of North Las Vegas.

“Jason Roskov was the patron saint and guardian of our community,” said North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Gines-Brown at vigil. “Every day he answered the call.”

Roskov, the father of two young boys, was a 17-year-old veteran of the North Las Vegas department, police said. He was killed on Tuesday at a shooting with a man identified as a 25 -year -old Alexander Matisse after officers responded to reports of a man aimed at a gun at a short time before 14:15 near Lone Mountain Road and Camino al Norte, police reported S

The Central Church was also the place of the funeral for Metropolitan officer Police Department, Trune Tai, who was shot and killed on the road eastern Flamingo near UNLV in October 2022.
