Forest

East Kale – Vermont Land Trust announced Scott Basage and Charlotte Hannah have retained 223 acres of forest, wetlands and streams of main waters in East Kale. The protective property includes almost one mile from Beijing Brooke’s main tributary, which eventually flows into the Voski River and creates a block of 350 acres of preserved land. The project will strengthen clean water, the habitat of the wild and the resistance of floods in an area where there is a significant impact of floods in the summer 2024.

Anxiety

East Montpelier – supported by the M&T Charity Foundation, the Family Network Marionettes in Vermont, were recently able to provide a day of the elementary school concern show in East Montpellier. Students from the younger classes received a puppet program for concern while the fifth and sixth graders participated in the anxiety workshop.

Dolls in educational programs relate to social problems, including harassment, abuse, mental health, anxiety and other topics. Puppets in Education is a Vermont family network program that supports all Vermont children with special needs.

Madeline Johnson, a specialist in political science and sociology, by Northfield, was appointed to the list of deans in the fall of 2024 at the Charleston College.

Hub for food

Morrisville – the Northern Borders Regional Commission has announced financing of non -profit rescue farms to create a food processing center in collaboration with Lamoille Corporation Corporation.

Situated at the 48th St. Morisville Congress (former Walgreens), this facility will support local farmers and a wider food system, summarizing and processing excess fruits and vegetables, edible food, which can otherwise be lost due to market restrictions.

Rescue farms will use NBC funding together with the 2023 budget loan from Vermont to support the initial setup and cost of equipment. Extra effort to raise funds will begin this spring.

Northeast Delta Dental

Northeast Delta Dental has made 10 awards for a total of $ 901 495 to help repay a dental loan in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

In order to attract more dentists in Northern New England, the Northeast Delta Dental has provided financing for three years to be used to repay a loan for dental students.

Awards in this cycle were made to the Vermont dentists in Richford and Swanton.

Nofa-vt

The NOFA-VT Farm Share Program App opened for February 1 for spring and summer seasons.

The program reduces the costs (25%-75%) from the local CSA (a community supported by agriculture) or a Vermonters farm stand loan in need of financial assistance, while ensuring that farmers are completely paid. CSA is a subscription (usually weekly) from a farm for regular supply of vegetables, dairy products, meat, bread and more.
