Wilmington’s Primary School successfully confirmed its “good” rating after its latest COSTED check on December 3 and 4, 2024.

Inspectors stressed that this sense of pride “exceeds its academic success in order to include the way students are determined to engage in the local community.”

The report finds that primary Wilmington is a place where high expectations are determined by staff and students “strive to exceed them”.

However, inspectors have indicated that “there are a small number of students who require more opportunities to deepen their education and move to more complex work.”

Similarly, in mathematics, “some students are not given enough practice before moving on to abstract concepts,” which means that these students “consistently do not understand what they are learning.”

The school has already begun to deal with this by investing resources to support a deep understanding.
