A 15-year-old accused of killing at the age of 14-wtsp.com

Detectives say teenagers had previous disputes with each other before a deadly shooting.

TAMPA, Florida-15-year-old boy was arrested for shooting and killing a 14-year-old boy while they were driving bicycles at a junction in Tampa, according to police.

It happened on Wednesday of N Hillsborough Lane near E Juneau Street.

Employees claim that 14-year-old Armando Gilbert was driving his bike with another teenager at N Hillsborough Lane. As they approached the street, Juno was, a 15-year-old boy driving his bicycle in circles at the intersection.

According to police, the 15-year-old was waiting for Gilbert.

As Gilbert approached, the 15-year-old young man rides after him, shot him repeatedly and escaped from the stage.

Employees arrived shortly after 18:00 to find Gilbert with an upper body injury. He was transported to the hospital where he was declared dead.

Through the investigation, detectives say they have determined that Gilbert and the 15-year-old boy had previous disputes before the shooting.

The 15-year-old was arrested on Thursday night and charged with:

  • One crime for first -degree murder,
  • A crime for an aggravated attack with a deadly weapon
  • and a crime by a minor who owns a firearm.

“No parent should never experience the heartbreaking loss of a child, especially in such a meaningless and unfair way,” said Tampa’s police chief Lee Berkau. “While we are mourning with the Armando family and offering them support during this unthinkable time, we remain committed to keeping minors responsible when they decide to take away the lives of someone else. Armando’s family does not deserve anything less than justice, and I am proud of the quick efforts of men and women who worked tirelessly to arrest within 24 hours after this tragedy. “
