Garland, Texas – Garland detectives are investigating the tragic death of a woman to woman early this morning. On January 21, 2025, shortly before 2 o’clock in the morning, police in Garland replied to reports of a firearm in an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Chaa Road.

What we know

When officers arrived, they found a woman in the parking lot with a firearm. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

The investigation shows that there was an embarrassment involving a man and two women, according to police.

During the dispute, 39-year-old Robert Ray Kelly of Dallas shot one of the women and left the scene before officers arrived, police say.
