Hammond — The teams of the southeast of the University of Louisiana are again in action on Friday, participating in Vulcan Invitational, hosting the University of Alabama-Birmingham, in Birmingham Crossplex.

The day begins at the throwing cells at 9 o’clock in the morning as field events start at 10am and follow events that start at noon. All events will be held at Birmingham Crossplex and live results will be available through the host institution.

Both southeastern teams will seek continuous improvement after a total of 18 personal records of the season in the LSU Purple Tiger were set last month.

The Terrel Webb will go for his second victory in the weight throwing competition, where he will also try to return to position as a contender for a place in the National Championship indoors indoors NCAA. He enters the Vulcan Invitational with the 45th Best Distance of Throwing in the Country 20.5 meters (67’3.25).

Javon-Taye Williams is the other SLU Gold Medal winner by Baton Rouge. He will look to repeat his performance on the track, especially in his first place in the 600-meter dash, where he also put a personal best with a time of 1: 19.33.

Favory Onyah will look like Lady Lions in UAB after winning a medal performance at the LSU Purple Tiger, third in the 600-meter dash with a personal best time of 1: 38.45.

After Vulcan Invitational, the Lions have a day off before competing at the LSU Twilight on February 21st at Baton Rouge at the final match before the Soutland Conference Championship.
