Baton Rouge – Tenants sigh relief after they have paid the water bill to their apartment.

Debbie Dukes initially reached out to 2 of you when she learned that her water should be cut off in late January. In anticipation of a new management, the Baton Rouge Water gave a one -week extension and the bill was paid in the last hour.

“I’m relieved, I’m relieved,” Duxe said.

Barker Property Management is now watching operations at Apartments Summer Grove on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge. The complex, made up of about 80 units, needs a lot of TLC.

Paul Wales lives in the complex and told WBRZ last month that there are water supply problems.

“It is so flowing and damaged, they have rats, cockroaches, the leakage of the roof, the smell of hot water is so terrible that you are afraid to bathe in it, it is frightening,” Wales said.

The city is until this week, noting a long list of problems and dangerous living conditions. A violation notice was published next to the door. Among the problems, external structural problems, rodents and general dangerous conditions. The notice gives the guide 30 days to make improvements or to face fines.

Barker says he works to evaluate the property as a whole and make suggestions to the creditor.
