Goodyear closes Otr Sale to Yokohama Rubber Company – Wibw

Topeka, Kan. (Wibw) -Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has announced that it has completed the release of its off-road tire business (OTR) to Yokohama Cubber Company.

Goodyear announced on Monday, February 3, that the sale is in force immediately. The OTR tire business was sold in a whole -money transaction worth approximately $ 905 million.

The company says it will continue to produce OTR tires at its Topeka plant, one of its eight plants that make the tire up to 5 years after the sale and remain engaged in the production of tires at the site.

According to Goodyear’s press release, he intends to use transactions revenue to reduce leverage initiatives and fund the Goodyear Forward transformation plan.
