The North Las Vegas Police Department identifies the officer who was killed in the duty on Tuesday.

Jason Roskov, 46, has been with NLVPD for 17 years. It began in 2007 in a movement department. He returned to patrol operations in 2024, KTNV reports.

On Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to a call for a suspect, who directed a gun at a resident. When an officer Roskov arrived at the scene, he tried to contact the suspect, but the suspect escaped.

Officer Roskov found a suspect armed with a gun and ordered him to show his hands. They said the suspect ignored the officer and followed an exchange of shooting.

Policeman Roskov has been shot repeatedly, but has managed to return the fire and hit suspects, police said.

Both the suspect and the officer were killed.
