Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, local authorities are urging fans to plan forward when it comes to transportation.

According to the National Highway Safety Administration, nearly 45% of the fatal catastrophes in the Super Bowl Sunday 2022 included alcohol.

“I will tell you to knock on someone’s door to tell them that their loved one has died in a catastrophe, this is a very difficult situation that should be for anyone,” said DPS sergeant Adrian Breeze.

LPD recommends having a plan before the start of the day, whether it is RideShare, have a certain guide or use public transport.

Do not try to guess when disturbed drivers can start driving. If you notice a car that is driving under the influence, you wanted to contact the authorities.

“Be aware of your environment. If you are driving, it doesn’t matter where, on the cycle or march Sharp, you see someone rotate, do not hesitate to call 911, say that someone is spinning, it does not stay in the strips, said LPD sergeant Stephen Bergen.

In Texas, it is against the law to drive with a concentration of alcohol in the blood 0, L08 or higher if you are 21 years or older.
