A winter storm will affect Sierra and West Nevada, starting on Thursday afternoon and continues until Friday, according to the Reno NV National Meteorological Service.

The National Meteorological Service warns heavy snow, strong winds and dangerous travel conditions, especially in the passages of Sierra.

The accumulation of snow can reach up to 10 inches below 7000 feet and up to 3 feet at higher elevations.

As the snow levels are reduced, west Nevada may experience light snow.
