The city will use feedback to prioritize initiatives, services and programs in the future. Once the feedback period for 5,500 selected households is completed, an online version of the survey will open for all residents of the city to provide their reviews.

Households, randomly selected, will receive a postcard with instructions.

The city asks the residents who receive the postcard to take about 15 minutes to fill in the poll online – the collected data is an important component of Scottsdale’s engagement to provide services at the highest level of the Community.

The National Community survey was created specifically for use by local authorities at the Polco National Research Center. It allows residents to evaluate their overall quality of life and to provide specific reviews for municipal services, public safety, customer service and their level of participation in events and activities in the Community.

As such studies are conducted in hundreds of jurisdictions, Scottsdale can compare its results with other cities across the country. This study also allows Scottsdale to compare its current quality of service to years, as most issues remain constant between studies.

The choice of a group of households of Scottsdale randomly assures that the results are representative of the community within a certain limit of error. Since randomly selected households have the opportunity to respond, a web-based version will be available to all residents of the city to provide feedback.

The results of the study will be available in the spring of 2025. More information and past results from the study are available on the city website of Scottsdaleaz.gov, search “Community Study”.
