Antigua Taco’s new House featuring Guatemalan and Mexican food opened on the east of the city center.

The restaurant is at the original place at Jackie’s 702 E. Eight St. St.

It is owned by Leslie Reyes of Burrito Express Jackie on West 12th Street – the daughter of Jackie Vanloch’s founder Jackie Vanloch – and Roberto Lopez, who has been working for Vanloch, and the most recently Reyes has been combined in almost a decade. The name, Antigua House, is a nod to the Guatemalan Heritage of Reyes. Antigua is a city in the Central American country.

The menu is similar to Burrito Express, but focuses on items that will appeal more to workers in the city center, Lopez said. “More taco, enhilada, burrito,” he noted.

The choice of meat includes steak, ground beef, grilled chicken, grated chicken, shrimp, horizons, carnites, al -pastor, which is marinated pork, and Langua or beef.

Burrito Express’s most selling, including Birria Tacos, Biria Burrito and California Burrito, which has a choice of meat, fried potatoes, Nacho, Pico de Galo, sour cream and guacamole.

One of the new suggestions is Mole Enchiladas with Tomatillo cream sauce, Lopez said.

Proposals for seafood include half a dozen shrimp dishes, three species of Sevice and three soups.

The restaurant offers several daily special lunch that will rotate, Lopez said.

There are seven breakfast suggestions that are served all day with the full menu and half -dozen dining options.

The order counter includes dessert filled with single portions of Tres Leches, Tiramisu, Rice Pudding Cake and several varieties of cheesecake.

Customers enter the restaurant through the door that leads to the counter to order. The adjacent space includes the dining room and a small bar.

There are several Mexican and home -made fountain beers and a few more options in bottles and cans. Margarita are also available on the basis of malt. Non -alcoholic suggestions include Pepsi, Horchata, Agua Fresca products and other drinks.

The hours are from 9am to 9pm from Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 9:30 pm Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant plans to eventually add delivery via DOORDASH.
