Former Outfield in Seattle Marinrs receives a major league deal from divisional rivals – Sports Illustrated

Former Outfield of Seattle Marinrs Ben Gamel has signed a major league deal with rival Houston Astros, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Ben Gamel agreed to a one -year deal with $ 1.2 million in the main League with Astros, as a source. Gamel receives a $ 200,000 signing bonus and the remaining $ 1 million is not guaranteed, although it becomes guaranteed if it makes the list outside the camp. @Jeffpassan was on that.

Gamel, 32, has played for New York Yankees, Sailors, Bremers in Milwaukee, Guardians in Cleveland, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, New York Metz and Astros during his nine-year career. He also had 13 homes and 83 RBI for Seattle. It provided solid protection in the field.

Gamel played 20 matches for Astros at the end of 2024, hitting .259 with one household. Astros downloaded Marines in the American League West race to win the division with one match. Houston went to the playoffs before falling against the Detroit tigers in the Wild Card circle, crashing into two games.

Both teams will report to spring training next week, and Astros will look much different than last year. They traded Kyle Tucker on the Chicago cubes, signed Christian Walker, and are likely to lose Alex Bragman in a free agency.
