Mayor Safo presents a proclamation of the month of black history at a council meeting – Wect

Wilmington, NC (Wect) – The Mayor of Wilmington Bill Safo has released an official proclamation that announced February for the month of black history 2025.

According to a press release from the city of Wilmington, Mayor Safo published the proclamation together with the Wilmington Municipal Council at their meeting on Tuesday, February 6th.

The proclamation was presented to the members of the African -American History Committee and NAACP.

“The month of black history serves as a reminder of the importance of continuing the destruction of barriers, challenging the injustice and raising the votes and the experience of Afro -American in every community,” says the official proclamation.
