LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The North Las Vegas Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday night.
Officers responded to a single vehicle collision near Craig Road and Donna Street at approximately 5:23 p.m
Police said the vehicle involved was a white Nissan Versa that crashed into a light pole. On arrival, officers found a man, believed to be in his 40s, with a head injury. The medics provided medical assistance and transported the man to Travma Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the Nissan was traveling westbound on Craig Road and had just passed Donna Street when it left the roadway and struck the light pole. Officers noted that the driver was not wearing a seat belt and impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s identity, along with the cause and manner of death. The North Las Vegas Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
