Public invited to an interactive meeting for Senior in Birmingham, Chitalishte – The Daily Tribune

The Birmingham Community is invited to participate in an interactive meeting on Monday, February 10, for the future community and senior center.

The meeting begins at 5:30 pm, before the regularly planned meeting of the City Commission, which starts at 7:30 pm in the municipality building, 151 Martin Str.

“Participants can expect an interactive experience during a presentation by Neumann Smith Architects with an architectural study for visual preferences,” said the city’s assistant manager Melissa Fairbarn.

“The public will have the opportunity to weigh the appearance and feel of the new building and to indicate preferences on the exterior shape, entrance and building materials, using their mobile phones to react and interact with presentation.”

The city bought the existing YMCA building on 400 E. Lincoln Street in June 2023 for use as a senior and community center. After a thorough study of the condition of the building and the cost of renovation, the City Commission voted to build a new facility with a square feet of 44 500-49 000 square feet, according to a city message.
