Dwight Yoakam’s Rockin ‘Brand of Country illuminates the Tucker civil center for a big show on the first Friday of Artsy.

Req Room, a new North Monroe performance space, welcomes the Tallahassee The New 76ERS folk group on Friday.

And this is the Super Bowl Weekend with Tom & the Cats, which launch the Super Bowl Saturday Night party at Corner Pocket.

The Word of South Festival has announced this week that their plans to honor the 70th anniversary of Funkadelic Parliament with a free concert featuring Danny Bedrosian and George Clinton, along with P-Funk members at the Amphitheater of Adderli in the evening of April 5. Stay setting up the full festival schedule.

Here is a round of fun events planned around Talahasi, e -mail, online lists of the Culture and Art Council and elsewhere.

1. Dwight Yoakam: The Cosmic Roundup & Rodeo Tour

The award -winning, multi -platinum seller of country singer Dwight Joakak directs his cosmic round and rodeo tour at the Civil Center for Shaw on 19:00 Friday, February 7th. Yoakam goes around with Mavericks and 49 Winchester and has a new album, “Lower days,” which came out on November 15th.

Joakam, “King of Bakersfield’s Sound,” collaborates with the new record with the post Malone of “I don’t know how to say goodbye (Bang Bang Boom Boom)”. Joakam also covers “Keep on the sunny side” from the Carter family on the disc.

Miami Band the Mavericks with the lead singer Raul Malo were the last in Talahasi for a destructive show on the moon in 2024.

Joakam was involved in the scene of La Kaupunk, influenced by the second wave of Rockabilly and Punk, along with X, Los Lobos, The Knitters and Blasters. Yoakam has appeared in more than 40 feature films, including Sling Blade, Panic Room and Stephen Soderberg’s Logan Lucky.

2. Take blue with Big al and heavy weights

New Orleans Roots Band Big Al and The Heavyweighs traveled in 2025 in support of the VizzTone Label Group album, Blues Power. They play House of Music, 2011 S. Monroe St., from 20:00. Friday, February 7th. The tickets are $ 20. Visit Houseofmusictally.com.

American Roots’s music album includes everything from oily funk to grinding blues sprinkled with some Bayou Soul and of course infectious Zydeco. The group was introduced into the Hall of Fame of Blues Blues Alabama in 2023.

3. Go coast with St. George’s Shrimp Festival

The Farah St. George Association will host the fourth annual SGI shrimp from 11:00 to 4pm Saturday, February 8, in the western parking area adjacent to Park Park. Indulge in a holiday to the senses with a variety of shrimp dishes prepared by local culinary experts.

Groove to the Beats of Live Musical Performance with the participation of Blues Factor Band, visit the sale and the best and good time of all events throughout the event.

Tickets for the event are $ 5 for age 13+ and are available at the Lighthouse gift store. Tickets will also be available at the gate on the day of the festival. The SGI Shrimp Festival is a fundraising for the St. George’s Lighthouse Association.

4. Set up to Blue Darlin ‘and New 76ers

5. Opening Nights: Prism Concert

The southern company Shakespeare presents a dynamic, 55-minute version of Shakespeare’s classic stars’ tale with the participation of five members of the cast in Romeo and Juliet at 7am on Friday, February 7th, at the Turner audience at the State College in Talahassi.

The performance completed its educational tour of Big Bend Schools in 2025 this February with a return to Shakespeare’s original text.

BONUS EVENT: Film society rolls with Comedy Classic screws
