Las Vegas (Klas) – North Las Vegas police identify the officer killed in a deadly shooting on Tuesday as an officer Jason Roskov, 46.

Roskov, the father of two young boys, spent 17 years at the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD), said the department of the department. He worked in the NLVPD movement department before returning to a patrol in 2024.

IPOF plans to hold candlelight vigil in honor of Roskov on Thursday, February 6, at Liberty Park at the City Hall in North Las Vegas with a beginning at 5:30 pm

The shooting took place in a neighborhood on Tuesday near the West Lone Mountain Road and Camino Al Norte, in a neighborhood near Craig Ranch Park.

Roskov responded to a report to a man who directed a gun at another person. The pistol person ignores the officer’s commands and shot Roskov, police said. The shooter was also killed.

South Nevada police agencies held a procession on Wednesday afternoon to transport Roskov’s body from the Corron Corron’s office to Clark County to the funeral home in the center of Las Vegas.
