Kiri Irving, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis had a “dream” to play with Celtics in 2018 – Athletic

As we (mercifully) enter the last days before the deadline for trade of NBA 2025, I am reminded of the deadline for trading in 2019 and two digits: Anthony Davis and Luca Doncic.

When February 2019 began, Davis was 25 years and a month since the age of 26. The same age as Doncic now.

LeBron James has just joined Los Angeles Lakers in the out -season season. In the five seasons, before signing James, Lakers missed the playoffs each year while accumulating 284 losses from NBA. Still, James signed with Lakers anyway.

He identifies Davis, whom James was connected only before the season of Davis’s freshman in Kentucky, with his next star with Lakers. Davis signed with Klutch Sports in September 2018. Four months later, Davis requested trade from the Pelicans. Although it did not happen within the deadline for trade, it happened in July.

Before the finale of the Pelicans 2018-19 season, Davis is winding up, wearing all people! Shirt to the arena. This is one way to rotate the knife on the way out.

So, we’re here now. Davis didn’t want much: Parade, a center to play until, trade to make Lakers better. Well, Doncic is now Laker, the same age, a career point and his season of the season that James wanted Davis to be Laker. All it took was to move Davis.
