100 million dollars awarded to improve the Wisconsin farmers roads in rural areas – WMTV

Madison, wis. (WMTV) – Wisconsin farmers in rural areas will soon see road improvements as the Evers, along with the WISDOT Ministry of Transport, invests $ 100 million for $ 55 projects, Wednesday officials said.

Officials said the projects focused on improving rural roads and drains that transport products throughout the country.

The state agricultural industry has an economic impact of $ 116 million and supports more than 350,000 jobs. This is the second round of the announcement of the program for improving agricultural roads (ARIP). The first round of grants was announced in July.

“It is extremely important to have good roads and infrastructure, which not only guarantees that Wisconsinites can reach point A to point B safely, but also make sure,” said the government Evers. “By contributing a combined $ 116.3 billion economic impact and supporting nearly 354,000 jobs across the country, agricultural sectors and Wisconsin food processing are a critical part of our country’s history and our future. We must continue to invest in the repair and fixation of our roads and the modernization of our infrastructure in order to support our farmers, agricultural industries and rural communities in our country. “

Two years ago, governor Evers signed the 2013 Wisconsin Act to expand the local road improvement program that created Arip. Shortly thereafter, the governor signed his two-year budget from 2023-2025, which provides $ 150 million for the transport improvement program that provides access to agricultural land or facilities.
