Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – A police officer in North Las Vegas, killed in the fulfillment of the obligations, was awarded a procession and words of admiration by those who knew him.

Jason Roskov, 46, was killed in a shootout with an armed suspect on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, his ark was accompanied by his colleagues from the Corrron Corrona’s office of Clark County through the center of Las Vegas to Palm’s morgue.

Officer Roskov has been in the police in North Las Vegas since 2007, working in various divisions, including traffic and patrol – and he was recognized by an example award for service.

He was also a dedicated father with two young sons, 4-year-old Andrew and 9-year-old Grayson.

As his ark arrived in the morgue, the officers gathered, hugged and worshiped officer Roskov with a moment of silence.

North Las Vegas police said: “His dedication to the obligation and sustainability in challenging situations has won him the respect of his colleagues and the community he has served. Policeman Roskov was more than a colleague, he was a friend, mentor and valuable member of our family of law enforcement. “

With a commitment to the community, officer Roskov was also a 3-year-old trustee of foreign wars veterans, who provides scholarships for students and fights to improve the services of the VA Medical Center for local veterans.

The candlelight vigil will be held on Thursday at 5:30 pm in Liberty Park in front of the City Hall of North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police said the local funeral services will be held in the central church in the coming days, with additional details announced.

He will then be laid to rest in his hometown of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois.
