New LPG Export Terminal to Texas – Splash 247

Midstream Oneok and MPLX players will build a new 400,000 barrel per day of liquefied oil exports (LPG) to Texas City, on the shore of the Persian Gulf, which will also include a pipeline connecting to the repository of Oneok in Mont Belvie, Texas.

The $ 1.4 billion export terminal will be known as Texas City Logistics, and Oneok and MPLX will have 50% interest in the joint venture. MPLX will build and operate the facility, with construction expected to be completed in early 2028.

“Considering our high expectations for future growth and demand for more energy infrastructure, including export capacity, these MPLX projects complement our disciplined capital distribution strategy,” said president and Oneok Pierce CEO Norton.

The new Jefferies analysts have suggested: “This will provide some US export capacity when current restrictions affect pricing in the propane -butane value chain (including the potential of the VLGC point).”

The United States has an average of 1.9 million barrels per day of propane -butane exports recently against a terminal capacity of 2 million barrels per day.
