Chaffey Board chooses Dr Don English as President – Reported Group

Throughout his career, Dr. Don English has prioritized the well-being of all students, supporting the vulnerable population and promoting safe, more inclusive communities.

Now, as the first African -American to perform the functions of President of the Joint Council of the Chaffy High School of High School of High School, the Joint Union, Dr. English, is eager to upgrade the success of the area in the preparation of generations of college and career students.

D -E English, which has served in the board of trustees since 2021, He has extensive and excellent professional experience in education, youth intercession and leadership.

He is the director of the well -being of children and the attendance of the head of schools in San Bernardino County, monitoring education for homeless and encouraging youth services. In this role, he works to ensure that students facing challenging circumstances receive the necessary support to thrive academically and personally. Dr. English also serves as CEO of the Band and Drugs Working Group in San Bernardino County, collaborating with community partners to deal with the urgent problems affecting youth and their families.

“Nothing is more important than creating opportunities for young people and the support of their journey in any possible way. We do this through engagement and cooperation, “said Dr. English, father of two.

A native of Pomona, Dr. English was a star football player in Ganesha High School, along with his twin brother Ron. They continued their football quarries at the University of California in Berkeley – as Ron eventually pursued a career as a college coach. Don was less clear for his own career until he contacted longtime teacher Sherman Garnet, who hired him at the Chaffy West County school.

English will deal with the principal before joining the district head of the school office as an administrator recognized as their management, dedication and commitment to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Over the years, He was a leader in providing federal, state and local funding of grants and has a thorough experience in legislative analysis, development of curricula, policies and budgets.

Dr. English holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from California State University, San Bernardino and won a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California. He has been the president of the California School Administration Association (ACSA), Region 12 and elected President of the ACSA Education Council, where he provides strategic guidance and advocacy for teachers throughout the country. In addition, as president of the California Association of Supervisory Bodies of Welfare and attendance of children, Dr. English supports the policies and practices that support the well-being and academic success of all students.

With about 24,000 students, Chaffy is the second largest high school neighborhood in California. In addition to its eight whole high schools, Chaffy has a high school for continuation, online high school, school in the Community, School of Adults and Alternative Programs.
