A worshiper of employees, leaders and stakeholders have gathered this week in Trenton to sign a new Labor Project (PLA) agreement on the $ 5.7 million renovation project, which is happening at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

This is the first phase of a project for repair, upgrading and updating the 31-year-old Balpark. The work aims to fit into the instructions of the new baseball leagues (MLB) in the hope of attracting a team related to the minor league, back to Trenton’s place.

The Yankees Double-A team played there until 2020, following the reorganization of MLB of minors after this season. Since then, Trenton Thunder has served as a collegial summer baseball team of MLB League League.

PLA guarantees the hiring of union work by local construction trade unions for the project – as well as payment to support a salary.

The Mercer County Park Commission controls the balpark. Shorelands Construction and Jingoli Inc. They will manage the work.

Dan Benson County CEO said that for more than three decades, this balpark has been a cornerstone of the capital – and of Mercer County.

“This is a place that brings together families and communities and it takes people to Trenton throughout the region,” Benson said. “Today, we are committed to doing this project in the right way by hiring workers from the Union from construction deals that live right here in Mercer County and have a share in the community.”

“Trenton Thunder Ballpark is an important asset and a potential economic engine for the county, and especially for the city of Trenton,” said the Council of Mercer Terrence County Commissioners. “We are grateful to our partners in Mercer’s legislative delegation for the fight against so difficult to provide funding for this critical investment.”

Maintaining people come

Assembly Anthony Verrelli, the D-15th district, sponsors legislation to provide state funding for the modernization of the stadium.

“We built this stadium 30 years ago with Union Labour and over 10 million people came here to enjoy the game over the years after that,” Verrelli said. “These upgrades will keep people to go far in the future.”

Trenton Thunder President Jeff Hurley said the organization was excited to launch the first phase of renovation – and to make Trenton’s baseball better than ever.

“We are fortunate enough to choose leaders who understand why Ballpark matters and are increasing to return a connected team in our community,” Hurley said.

Wayne Diangelo, President of the Mercer County County County County Council, repeated this mood. Deangelo, who thanks the executive branch of the county, leaders and other stakeholders for working together to make this agreement a reality.

“Our members are eager to start working so that the stadium is on the highest shelf when the park opened again for the new season,” Dianngello said.
