Virginia Beach, Virginia – Margaret Lee Ferrell Horton, 104, of 5248 Deford Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and a former longtime resident of both Eure and Kill Devil Hills, NC, died on Monday, January 27, 2025. , in her home where she was cared for by her family.

Mrs. Horton was born in Chesapike, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Bessie Castelow Ferell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by death by her husband Nathan Edward Horton; Her son, Bruce Edward Horton; her sister Huanita Onley; And from her brother Edwin White.

A retired telephone operator with Bell-Atlantic, she was a member of the Cool Spring Baptist Church in the Eure Community of Gates County, North Carolina.

Her daughters, Kathy Elaine Halfacre from Fort Smith, Arkansas and Nancy Lynn Wilkinson of Virginia Beach, survived; Two grandchildren, Brittany Lin Landrey (husband, Davon) by Virginia Beach and Ricky Halfacre of Fort Smith; And many extended members of both Ferell and Horton’s families, as well as many friends in the communities he lived in.

The burial service of the graves took place on Monday 3 FebruaryRdAt 11:30 in the cemetery of the spring spring Baptist church and is held by wings over the Chaplain of Virginia Hospice James James Ravnel. Friends visited the family in the social hall of the church immediately after the service.
