Four arrests made after shooting at an apartment complex in Wilmington – WEK

Wilmington, NC (Wect) – After shooting Sand Ridge apartments late on Tuesday night, four arrests were made, two of which were minors.

Although a unique copy for the apartment complex, there are no minor firearms crimes.

For the first time, rifles were reported around 11am, the arrests were made around 3am in the village of New Hanover.

Several law enforcement agencies were summoned at the scene. They complied with a search order and began the process of a brief police call; Asks the suspects to leave the house.

Neighbors even remember how tense the situation was.

“They shot it really fast as Bang Bang Bang Bang,” said a neighbor Debra Taylor.

Despite the events on the night before the neighbors announce that they are still feeling safe in their complex.

What remains disturbing, however, is the number of crimes for minors involving firearms in North Carolina.

Last year alone, the Wilmington Police Department reported 60 cannons seized by minors in June only. Seven rifles were found on this scene.

“I think this is a national trend we see,” said Lieutenant Greg Willet of the Wilmington Police Department.

“There are so many firearms and the problem is when firearms fall into the hands of people who are banned by law,” said Lieutenant Willette.

Wilmington’s police say they are doing their best to prevent crime for minors, but they also know that it is an effort in the community in which everyone plays a role.
