Boise Airport hit record number of passengers third consecutive year, plans major extensions – Aidaho News

According to a recent announcement, 2024 is the third consecutive year for Boise Airport. Last year I saw nearly 5 million passengers, which is five percent compared to the previous record set in 2023.

The total number of passengers increased by over 238,000 from 4,990,885 in 2024 at 4 752 757 in 2023 or almost as many people living in Boise.

The airport is expanding its facilities to comply with the 81 % increase of passengers from 2014 to 2024. In the busy days, about 9,500 passengers pass through the TSA checkpoint and the current facilities are insufficient to be insufficient to respond to this search.

Expanding the terminal known collectively as Boi Upgrade, includes:

  • A seven -storey car rental center is under construction and is expected to be opened in 2026.
  • All new options for food, drink and retail and repairs are expected to be completed in 2025.
  • A new gathering with up to 10 new gates will allow an increased flight frequency and can provide opportunities for new destinations. The construction of Future Concourse A airport apron will begin this summer with the construction of a competition after 2027.

Completed BOI upgrade projects include:

  • New Mobile Phone Lot More than Three times Wicger than the previous mobile phone waiting area (2024)
  • Building a garage of five -level employees with 700 spaces for shift -based employees (2024)
  • Opening the eastern garage, which added 1100 public parking spaces, on a short walk from the terminal and doubled the closed long -term parking capacity (2023)
  • Expanding TSA security checkpoint from six to seven lanes (2023)
  • Add nearly 350 spaces in the economy parking lot (2023)
