Karen Ruth Gilbert entered this world on December 30, 1946 and left us on October 22, 2024. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, piano, as well as singing karaoke and dancing. She loved all kinds of animals; specifically cats or dogs that would sleep on her lap for extended periods of time.

She attended elementary and middle school in Greene, then graduated from Blue Valley High School. She worked as an accountant in the Clay County area for 40 years. She began this accounting career at Morganville Grain Co in 1972 and retired from Farmway Coop in Clay Center in 2012. She served on the board of C & R Credit Union, was the pianist for Clay Center Bible Church for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She also enjoyed volunteering at Lighthouse For Christ after retirement.
