Reno Rodeo Foundation offers Clifton Scholarship – The Record -Courier

Do you know who loved Reno Rodeo? A longtime journalist from West Nevada Guy Clifton.

Guy Clifton’s scholarship, which acknowledges Clifton’s lasting impact, will award $ 10,000 a year to students studying journalism or related areas.

Clifton has been the editor of the record-coach from May 1989 to August 1990, before covering the Rodeo for Reno Gazette-Journal for 22 years.

The scholarship is part of more than $ 150,000 offered by Reno Rodeo Foundation

The Foundation accepts applications for its scholarship program 2025 to March 28.

The rodeo accepts applications for Mutton Bustin ‘, the wild -popular event where future cowboys and cowbars install their sheep, hold firmly and ride through Grand Arena as long as they can stay.

Applications for 2025 Reno Rodeo Mutton Bustin ‘will be open until 5:00 pm Sunday. On Monday, a computerized random selection will determine the happy candidates who will receive notifications of their successful entry. Successful candidates must submit a $ 75 entry fee to secure their place. Those who are not selected will be notified and added to a waiting list.

The requirements competitors must be no less than five years old, no more than seven years old, and may not weigh more than £ 65 as of June 19, 2025.
