Florida Athletic Director Michael Alford said on Tuesday that he had already heard from candidates who were interested in being the next chief basketball coach of Seminoles.

24 hours after current FSU Men’s Basketball coach, Leonard Hamilton to resign at the end of the season, Alford said there was a significant intrigue around the position.

He credit Hamilton to raise the prestige of work.

“It’s an attractive job and it’s an attractive job because of Leonard Hamilton. They know the program is in a good place, they know that it is supported. They know that we are taking care of the sport here,” Alford said. “Every coach who is interested in this position is because of him and for 23 years they know that they will inherit something that is in a good place.”

Alford maintains that the FSU brand remains an attractive destination for future coaches, and he believes that the commitment to support the track and field program will build confidence in those who want to move to Talahasi.

However, he was stupid in what he said he was a top priority for the next priority coach of the program.

“Winning.”

He added that Hamilton has set a standard on how someone should work when he runs a seminoles basketball program, and hopes to find someone in line with the legendary chief coach’s approach.

Alford said he wanted someone who would get into a comprehensive approach to the program and would take care of not only what was happening on the court, but also from it.

“Doing it the right way, finishing your athletes as in the community,” Alford said. “How can you look at this person? You can’t. But you can get someone with a high character.”

“I think through my hiring story, looking at high-character people who will really take care of the athlete, they really understand the educational part. I want to say it’s Leonard Hamilton. This is what we are trying to hire. “
