Bismarck, ND (KFYR/Gray News) – North Dakota legislators have adopted a bill that will end the summer time for the state and force a constant standard time.

North Dakota’s house votes 55 to 37 in favor of sending Bill 1259 to the House to the Senate. It does not change the lines of the time zone.

According to supporters of the bill, there is an increasingly interested interest in terminating the rules of “spring forward” and “going back” every year.

Some of the reasons for getting rid of it involves more daylight in the morning and you do not have to adjust the sleeping models.

Opponents of the bill claim that moving to a constant summer time to save day summer will be better. However, federal laws forbid this.

Initially, the summer saving time was followed in the United States in 1918 to save fuel and energy during World War I, adding extra hour of daylight to reduce the need for artificial light.
