Inside the State DB Zaevion Cleveland discusses Virginia’s offer, recruitment – 247Sports

Zaevion Cleveland is a name to be known in Class 2026. The defense back of Virginia Beach (Washington) is a new rookie, popping up on the radar of the college program after he has moved from a basketball game and football.

“It was the summer I went into junior because I played football during my year, but I was still like 50-50 and then I didn’t do AU basketball,” he explained. “Then I was all in football.”

The biggest challenge? Freezing temperatures.

“Getting comfortable over time for sure. When the playoff time began, I was like, yo, I don’t know if I could take it,” he laughed.

The good news was that Cleveland’s athleticism helped to turn into a productive protective back.

“My role in my basketball game is to get struggles, jeans – give the energy for my team,” he explained. “So football in the same way, if you think about it – you run around, fly around, intense, carry energy.”

He is still working on his craft, but the schools have already noticed. Duke was the first offer followed by Virginia Tech., FreedomODU, ECU, UconnJmu, Delaer And recently, Virginia.

“He’s treating me well,” he said. “This is probably the biggest attention I have ever received from the schools. It was somehow surprising to me. Most schools that came to the school that I didn’t even know they were coming. It was great.”

One of those schools that visited his schools was UVA. The cavaliers sent several coaches to Landstown to visit the talented athlete – Virginia Chief coach Tony Elliott joined the coach of DB Curome Cox and a broad successors coach Adam MimsSays Cleveland.

“Virginia definitely paid me the most attention to the proposal,” he said. “They really explained to me how the school was – the great academic part, to be honest, it was the biggest thing they said – how the academician was up there, but they received all the support to bring me.

“It was very important to me,” Cleveland added to Hoos, sending three coaches. “Look at the coaches who take their work seriously about meeting me. Most brought the recruiting trainer or coach to the position, but to bring all three … They showed me how serious they are for recruiting staff.”

Cleveland still learns about Wahoos and hopes to continue to learn more about the schools that gain it through visits. He has not yet locked, but he hopes to take some.

“I’m just looking for a home and some love. I want to feel so that I’m needed in a team, not just a part of the team – this is what I tell every coach I talk to. I just want to find somewhere I feel. ”

He hopes to engage in the summer before the start of the new school year, but first? He hopes to improve his football coefficient of intelligence and a skill set.

“He just intensifies and is coping,” he told his focus off the season. “I’m already an excellent athlete – I’m already fast, I can jump really high, so at that moment I’m already a good athlete. I just want to work on things like mechanics. That’s only my second year playing football so I still have to He caught up with the game.
