LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD)— As of 5:00 p.m., the cold front that moved through our area this morning is well south of the watch area.
This front dropped our temperatures about 17 degrees this afternoon.
Cool winds will continue into the evening and decrease to around 10 mph still coming from the northeast.
The cooler air mass that the front brought us will stay there overnight and into Saturday morning.
Mostly clear skies and light winds will make way for a cool morning, though temperatures will be very close to the mid 40s. The northwest part of the viewing area could see the upper 30s.
Temperatures will remain cooler Saturday afternoon, though still a few degrees above average for this time of year with lows to mid-70s. Light northeasterly winds will continue in the morning, turning to the southeast in the afternoon.
