Houston Community College (HCC) and Texas University of Tyler (UT Tyler) partner to offer an innovative 4-year engineering program at the UT Tyler Houston (HEC) engineering center, located on the HCC Alief-Hayes campus.

This program allows students to win the UT Tyler Engineering BS degree for 4 years, while saving nearly 50% of training costs.

Students begin with the completion of a HCC engineering science associate before transferring to UT Tyler, provided they maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 without a degree of C. No further testing or evaluation of acceptance in acceptance is required UT Tyler’s program.

The initiative not only takes advantage of the students, but also supports the engineering industry and the requirements of the workforce in Houston. Zahari Hodges, President of HCC Northwest College, emphasized the role of the Houston Engineering Work Program.

“Engineering in Houston, Texas, is one of the best professions; so if what we can do is produce more engineers with UT Tyler, the better,” said Hodges.
