What started as an investigation into death on Sunday morning is now marked by the third murder of the New Year County County, according to the sheriff of Leon County.

The agency has already arrested a 34-year-old woman Katie Lin Haines and has accused her of second-degree murder. It is held at the detention facility of Leon County.

On Sunday, February 2, around 8am, MPs responded to a call about a dead man on the 8,000 block of Meridale Drive from the Woodville highway.

“When MPs arrived, they found an apparently deceased elderly man,” Lcso wrote in an update on evening cases published on social media. A LCSO spokesman told Democrats investigators to determine that the victim was stabbed in the neck.

Following the investigation, Haines was arrested on Monday and transported to the detention of Leon County on criminals.

The agency provided little details about the circumstances of the murder and the court records were not immediately available to Haines. A spokesman said the suspect was well aware of the victim.

The deputies responded to the call for the same weekend when another Woodwal incident caused titles. Police are still investigating a Friday night, a “rage incident”, which ended with a shooting and a man in a critical condition with two rifles to the abdomen.

The Talahassi Police Department has launched two murder investigations in January. The latter happened on January 28, after a man was shot on the road. Days later, police arrested two teenagers who were seemingly fled in the victim’s car.

The first began on January 12, after a man was found in the block 2500 on West Tennessee Street. While the TPD launched a murder investigation, employees failed to provide other details, including the circumstances of the case, the cause of death, the exact location or update of potential suspects.

Haines, who was included in court records such as Katie Caud, has a history of arrests on accusations that include major theft and possession of methamphetamine.

She was appointed a public defender during her first appearance of the court on Tuesday. Leon County Judge Nina Ashnafi-Richardson ordered her to be kept in prison without a bond.
