Jianna Kneepkens on Utah hits the “rare air” in the middle of the season – Sports Illustrated

Gianna Kneepkens has firmly established itself as one of the best players in the nation, winning a place on the national monitoring list of Ann Meyers Drysdale.

The highlight of Utah was a dominant force this season, an average of 19.2 points per game, while showing remarkable shooting efficiency. She is currently the only player in the country who shoots at least 50 percent of the terrain, 40 percent beyond the arc and 90 percent of the free throws line, a testament to her elite assessment.

Kneepkens ranks among the best in the nation in many categories, including seventh in a three-point percentage (46.4) and triplets of the game (3.10). She has recorded seven matches with 20 points or more, including two 30 points, one of which was in a career 32 points against BYU. It also plays an important role in Utah’s success, as UTES boasts an 11-1 recording when it makes at least three triplets.

Her recent section of 25 or more points in four consecutive games further hardens her place among the nation’s elite. Recognized as the big 12 player of the week on January 27, Kneepkens remains a serious contender for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which will be announced at the NCAA Final Four for Women in April.
