Leon County can rename fairs after the commissioner was proctor – Talahasi Democrat

The Leon County Commission can one day name the district fairs after the longtime commissioner Bill Proctor.

At the Council meeting on January 28, Commissioner Nick Madox suggested that the staff return an element on the agenda “when the next fair” seeks to call the property as “the William C. Proctor” Fair.

His movement received unanimous support from the daisy and prompted a proctor, a famous speaker, to become silent.

But the staff may need to bend the district rules if they want to move forward.

It seems that the criteria and guidance on the name of the county is said to be “naming a person’s proposals … It may be considered that they do not serve in a public position or employee of Leon County during renaming.”

The policy also points out that a commissioner must have served no less than five terms of service. No problem there: Proctor has served 30 years as a district commissioner 1 on the south side of the county, beating the requirement by 10 years.

The committee then gathers on February 11, but this program does not mention the renaming of what is now called the Fair Places in North Florida.

According to the spokesman of the Kiyana Gili county, the employees are working on the subject of the agenda and there is no certain date on when it will appear.

Fairgrounds has long been a pets project for the commissioner who stated his desire for the property to become the “jewel of the crown”.
